Here you can find answers to frequently asked questions.

We advise our guests to plan their visit in advance: buy tickets on our website, arrive at the museum well in advance, allowing for the time needed to exchange vouchers and pass through the checkpoint.


What are the museum's opening hours?

  • In the summer period (from May 15 to September 30) the Moscow Kremlin Museums are open from 10.00 to 18.00, in the winter period – from 10.00 to 17.00. The Armoury Chamber is open to the public from 10.00 to 18.00 according to timed admission system. Day off – Thursday. Please check the main page of our website for changes to opening hours. 

How do I buy tickets for the Kremlin Museums?
  • Tickets can be purchased at the Museum's ticket office on the day of your visit. If you would like to buy tickets in advance, you can use the online booking service


Can I buy tickets for the current day online?
  • No, there is a ticket pre-sale on the website, a ticket for the current day can only be bought only at the ticket office.


How much does a ticket cost? 

  • A full ticket for the Armoury Chamber costs 1200 rubles; a full ticket to the architectural ensemble of Cathedral Square – 900 rubles. Discount tickets are also available for under 16s. Children under the age of 7 visit the Kremlin Museums with a free of charge ticket. For more information please click here.


If I just want to visit the Armory Chamber, do I have to buy a ticket to the Kremlin territory?
  • No, just buy a ticket to the Armoury Chamber. 

How do I get into the Kremlin?
  • The entrance to the Kremlin area is through the Kutafiya Tower, the Armoury Chamber – through Borovitskaya Tower.

How can I have a tour of the museum with a museum guide?
  • There are different types of tour groups:
    - an organized group (20 adults; 22 children and 2 accompanying persons);
    - an assembled group (max. 20 people);
    - groups of up to 5 persons on individual order.

    If you are using the online booking on the museum's website to purchase your excursion tickets, please read User Agreement and Ticketing Policy for organizing excursions, which sets out the rights and obligations of the Customer and the Museum.


Can I change my ticket, change the date/time?
  • It is not possible to change the ticket or move the date/time. You can return the ticket and purchase a new one. Timeframes for refund depend on the type of ticket and are specified in the Ticket Refund Policy.


Can I return a ticket purchased on the website?

I would like to buy a ticket/tour online, but there are no tickets available for the date I want.
  • Tickets may not be available for sale on the date and time you require in the following circumstances:
    - ticket and tour sales have not yet started. Sales start 17 calendar days before the date of your visit. For example, on the first day of the month, the sale opens on the 18th, etc.;
    - all tickets/tours for the date or time you want are already sold out;
    - the date you have selected is Thursday. The Kremlin is closed to visitors on Thursdays.


The voucher has been issued for me, can someone else buy tickets for on it at the ticket office?
  • Only the person whose name is on the ticket can receive it. If for any reason you are unable to exchange the voucher for tickets, the recipient of the tickets must have a power of attorney from you. However, if you have issued individual tickets for a group visit to the museum, only the people whose names you have stated on the order will be able to collect them and enter the museum. In addition, each person can only receive their own ticket.

I have several tickets in my electronic order, can I return just one of them?  
  • No, you can only return the entire order, i.e. all the tickets included in the order. The refund period depends on the type of ticket and is specified in the Ticket Refund Policy.

I have a young child with me. Can I enter the museum with a pram or stroller?
  • You can take a stroller.

I'm a wheelchair user. Is it possible to visit the Armory Chamber and Cathedrals? 
  • Yes, it is possible to visit the Armoury Chamber and the Cathedrals, but you will need accompanying persons to help you up the stairs. The Kremlin Museums are under UNESCO protection, so we are not able to reconstruct the stairs or install lifts to make it easier for the disabled. Your two companions are guaranteed free tickets.

Can I take photos in the museum and cathedrals? 
  • Please kindly understand that photography in the Armoury Chamber is forbidden in order to preserve the artefacts. Amateur photography is permitted in the Museums-Cathedrals, at exhibitions and within the Kremlin area without flash or additional equipment. Video recording is prohibited.

Are there any luggage storage facilities and any restrictions on what can be brought in?
  • The left luggage office for visitors to the Moscow Kremlin is located at the foot of the Kutafiya Tower. It is open daily from 9:00 to 18:30 (on days of religious events in the Moscow Kremlin cathedrals - from 7:30 to 18:30, on days of performance and entertainment events in the State Kremlin Palace - from 9:00 to 23:00). Is there a parking next to the museum?
  • Unfortunately, there is not.
