13.05.2022 - 14.08.2022The Duel: from Trial by Combat to a Noble Crime
Unique exhibits will help to immerse in the world of duels of the 16th-17th centuries; many are exhibited in Russia for the first time and never before seen in the same space. The display features over a hundred and forty artefacts – rare drawings, engravings, paintings, treatises on the art of fencing, arms and armour of that time, given on loan by Russian museums and libraries.
15.04.2022 - 25.05.2022Kremlin Service. Gift of the Karisalov Family
The Karisalov family donated to the museum the pieces from the Kremlin Service, made at the Imperial Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg for the Grand Kremlin Palace – the new royal residence in the Moscow Kremlin. The service was made in 1837-1839, simultaneously with the construction of the palace, and was intended for gala dinners, including coronation dinners held in the Faceted Chamber.
