The exhibition in the Moscow Kremlin Museums, dedicated to the 270th anniversary of the Moscow State University, tells about the early period of its history – from its foundation by Empress Elizaveta Petrovna till the end of the reign of Alexander I, who granted it with the first Statute in 1804 and assigned its privileges with the Confirmatory Charter.
The Legacy of Peter the Great and Coups d'Etat in the Russian Empire

The exhibition tells the story of table games, one of the most popular forms of leisure since ancient times. The author of the "Book of Games" of 1283, the oldest surviving treatise on this fascinating pastime, defined them as "games played while seated": primarily chess, draughts, tafl, backgammon, and tric-trac. The exhibition "1872 Peter the Great's Anniversary in Moscow" coincides with the 150th Anniversary of the Polytechnic Exhibition, which marked the Emperor’s 200th Anniversary and became the most outstanding and grandiose project ever undertaken within the Moscow Kremlin. In 1872, for the first time in history, the Kremlin, its surrounding gardens and the embankment were transformed into a real city of science, technology and art. Its plan, opening the exhibition in the state anteroom of the Armoury Chamber today, shows the scale of this first pavilion-type exhibition in Russia.
Kremlin Service. Gift of the Karisalov Family

The Karisalov family donated to the museum the pieces from the Kremlin Service, made at the Imperial Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg for the Grand Kremlin Palace – the new royal residence in the Moscow Kremlin. The service was made in 1837-1839, simultaneously with the construction of the palace, and was intended for gala dinners, including coronation dinners held in the Faceted Chamber.
France and Russia: Ten Centuries Together

The display dedicated to the centuries-old history of Russian-French relations includes more than 200 pieces, among which are archival documents, personal belongings of the heads of state, diplomatic gifts and works of art. The exhibition is dedicated to the 100th Jubilee of the world-famous weapons designer – M.T. Kalashnikov (10.11.1919 - 23.12.2013). The displayed items trace the creative development of the eminent engineer. M.T. Kalashnikov was a Great Patriotic War veteran; it was right in the war field when his inventive talent was revealed for the first time.

The Moscow Kremlin Museums present pieces from the collection of the Beijing Palace Museum (Gugong). The display will be dedicated mainly to the Qianlong Emperor (1736–1796), to important milestones in his life, as well as to court ceremonial in the Qing period. For the first time in Russia, the Moscow Kremlin Museums will hold a retrospective exhibition, presenting pieces of high jewellery art by world-known Italian Maison BVLGARI, which history dates back more than a hundred and thirty years. Over four hundred unique pieces of high-end jewellery from the BVLGARI Heritage Collection, as well as pieces from the private collections from around the globe, will be on display at two exhibition halls of the Kremlin museums — the Exhibition Hall of the Assumption Belfry and the Exhibition Hall of the Patriarch’s Palace.

It will be the first time when the collection of the Shanghai Museum will be demonstrated in the Moscow Kremlin Museums. The exhibition is dedicated to the Ming dynasty epoch (1368–1644), one of the most vivid pages in the wealthiest heritage of China. Experts call that period – the "extension of knowledge", as the interest in art, literature and music, intimate knowledge of philosophical and historical tractates becomes a real cult. This very body of knowledge and interests is known as “scholarship” in China.

In July 2017 the Moscow Kremlin Museums will open the exhibition presenting Japanese applied and decorative art of the 19th to early 20th century from the private collection of a world-famous British scientist, collector and philanthropist of Iranian origin Professor Nasser David Khalili. A variety of world famous Japanese kimono, unsurpassed samples of silk embroidery, porcelain, metal and enamel artworks in all its glory will be on display. Most of them were created by craftsmen-official suppliers of the Japanese Imperial court.

The exhibition is based on unique pieces made in the traditions of the Late Renaissance and Mannerism. On display are high-class artworks created by gunsmiths as individual orders either of Habsburg Imperial court or of Dresden and Brunswick, as well as those executed by makers of the largest centers of crafts, i.e. Augsburg and Nuremberg. The pieces allow visitors both to admire the craftsmanship of the 16th and 17th century armourers and to get the idea of the tastes of the customers.

THE MOSCOW KREMLIN MUSEUMS LAUNCH AN EXHIBITION ON THE EPOCH OF PALACE COUPS
The exhibition "The Legacy of Peter the Great and Coups d'Etat in the Russian Empire", which reveals the struggle for power between the aristocratic clans that began soon after Peter the Great's death, was opened on 15 November 2024 in the halls of the Patriarch's Palace and the Assumption Belfry.
THE OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION ON THE CREATION OF THE MONUMENT TO ALEXANDER II
The 10th of October 2024 was marked by the ceremonial opening of the exhibition "Monument to Alexander II in the Moscow Kremlin. The Story of the Creation" in the State Anteroom of the Armoury Chamber. This is the first time that the museum has taken up the theme of the creation of this memorial built with the people's money, which is reflected in the inscription on the gallery frieze surrounding the monument: "Built with the voluntary support of the Russian people".

On 8 September 2023, the exhibition "Alexander II: Liberator and Reformer" has opened in the Khabarovsk Regional Museum named after N.I. Grodekov. There are over 50 pieces from the Moscow Kremlin Museums’ collection, including personal belongings of the Emperor and artefacts commemorating key events in the Russian history. Many of them have left the Kremlin and are being shown to the public for the first time.

The Treasury of King Christian IV of Denmark exhibition launched at the Moscow Kremlin Museums
On 18 May, the opening of the exhibition The Treasury of King Christian IV of Denmark took place in the State Anteroom of the Armoury Chamber. The project brought together about thirty items that introduce visitors to the history of the reign of King Christian IV and the development of Russian-Danish relations in the 17th century. Guests at the vernissage were able to admire diplomatic gifts and other masterpieces from the Royal Treasury.

8 October 2020, the ceremonial opening of the exhibition “Carl Fabergé & Feodor Rückert. Masterpieces of Russian Enamel” took place at the Assumption Belfry. The exhibition presents about five hundred masterpieces made by Russian jewellery firms of the 19th – early 20th century of precious metal and covered with enamel, now kept in state and private collections of Russia and the United Kingdom.
