The exhibition covers the period from 1547, the time of Ivan the Terrible's accession to the throne, to 1712, when a new capital was established by Peter the Great in Saint-Petersburg.

The exhibition explores the history and aspects of the Russian-German political and cultural relations, covering a period of one thousand years.

One of the most precious Kremlin collections of a great historical and cultural value is the one incorporating pieces of jewellery produced by the famous Faberge firm, the distinguished Russian firms of P. Ovchinnikov, I. Khlebnikov, O. Kurlyukov, G. Klingert, M. Semyonov.

The exhibition, assembled in the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha, Qatar, explores the history of the tradition of gift giving and its impact on the development of culture and arts in the Islamic world. Practiced in all societies, gift exchange has a history as ancient as humanity itself.

At the exhibition in the Prague Castle Riding Hall visitors can observe precious monuments and works of decorative and applied arts of the XVIIth century from the fund of the Moscow Kremlin Museums, which relate to the time of the first tsars of the Romanov House - Mikhail Fyodorovich Romanov and Alexis Mikhailovich Romanov-, and their spiritual guide and counsellor Patriarch Philaret as well.

The exhibition, being a continuation of the cultural project of 2009 carried out in the Louvre museum, brings together over 170 remarkable timepieces from various renowned European collections.
