Coat of the uniform of Emperor Alexander IThe project, designed and carried out by the Army Museum in collaboration with the Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany, Bonn, incorporates over 300 precious loans from all over the world to present the figure and personality of Napoleon and his time. The exposition is being placed in the cathedral of the Paris National Residence of the Invalids (L'Hôtel national des Invalides), within walking distance of the tomb of Napoleon, not far from the significant collections of the Army Museum, dedicated the heritage of the Empire.

The influence exerted by Napoleon on the course of European history is revealed through historical artifacts and masterpieces as well as through testimonies of his contemporaries in the sphere of arts, politics, government and finance.

The Moscow Kremlin Museums have loaned a remarkable exhibit of that period – the coat of the uniform of Emperor Alexander I, fashioned and trimmed as an officer uniform of the Preobrazhensky Lifeguard Regiment of 1802-1806.
