On 2 November, in the State Anteroom of the Armoury Chamber, the "Lugansk Worker, the Last Resident in the Kremlin. In Memory of Marshal K.E. Voroshilov" exhibition was opened, showing how the image of the Marshal transformed over time – from a Lugansk worker to the Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. The exposition presents Voroshilov’s personal belongings, his full dress uniform, orders and decorations, as well as works of art depicting the Chairman.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Director General of the Moscow Kremlin Museums E.Yu. Gagarina, Director of the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation A.K. Nikonov, and Doctor of Historical Sciences, Head of the Department of History of Russia of the 20th-21st Century of the Moscow State University named after Lomonosov, Adviser to the Russian Federal Protective Service S.V. Devyatov.

"It is very important in our time to talk about the history of the Kremlin, about what was happening here during the Soviet period, because it was during that period that our state was created in its modern form. It’s very pleasant that ten national museums have lent us their works of art related to the personality of the great marshal," Elena Yurievna Gagarina said.

"This chamber display is absolutely phenomenal, simply because it presents a huge layer of real objects – we can ‘touch’ them, if only with our eyes, and appreciate them. It’s not common to talk about Soviet leaders, but this tendency is being overcome. Kliment Efremovich is a legendary man, a man who has become a symbol in people’s minds. He is very directly connected with these walls," Sergey Viktorovich Devyatov noted.

Alexander Konstantinovich Nikonov also greeted the guests at the vernissage and showed photographs of exhibits kept in the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which are connected with the history of the marshal. He spoke about Voroshilov’s great contribution to culture.

The "Lugansk Worker, the Last Resident in the Kremlin. In Memory of Marshal K.E. Voroshilov" exhibition will run until 28 February 2024.

A visit to the exhibition is included in the price of a ticket to the Armoury Chamber.
