On 4 September, the Vladimir K. Arseniev Museum of Far East History opened the exhibition "The Epoch of Fabergé. The Golden Age of Russian Jewellery Art", presenting creative works of the eminent Russian jeweller and his contemporaries.
The opening of the exhibition took place in the presence of Olga Lyubimova - Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Victor Shalay - Director of the Vladimir K. Arseniev Museum, and a video message from Elena Gagarina, Director General of the Moscow Kremlin Museums, was also shown.
"Valuable objects from the funds of the Moscow Kremlin Museums, which are on display in Vladivostok, are not just precious pieces. They are sacred cultural artefacts that reflect the rich history of the country," emphasized Olga Lyubimova.
"We have created an exhibition that will allow visitors to the Vladimir K. Arseniev Museum to see amazing and refined pieces of jewellery art, in particular – the real pearls of the Kremlin collection. These are three Easter eggs made by the House of Fabergé: "Alexander Palace", "The Romanov Tercentenary" and the last Easter gift from Emperor Nicholas II to his wife Alexandra Fyodorovna – the "Steel" egg," said Elena Gagarina.
Victor Shalay stressed that the opening of the exhibition required the joint efforts of all those involved in the development of the country and the Far East, namely the Russian Ministry of Culture, regional and city authorities, and patrons, who provided invaluable support.
The show features more than three hundred items, including jewellery, accessories, kitchen utensils and exclusive pieces, commissioned by the August Persons.
The exhibition will run until 12 January 2025.
