On 20 December 2023, within the framework of international cultural cooperation expansion General Director of the Moscow Kremlin Museums Elena Yu. Gagarina made a speech in the Learning Centre of the National Museum in the Sultanate of Oman before the representatives of the Sultanate, members of the administration and friends of the museum, students, and other guests interested in culture and the museum sphere.
Elena Gagarina, who arrived at the National Museum in the Sultanate of Oman on a business trip, read a lecture about the uprise and development of the Moscow Kremlin museum complex, its church and secular buildings, architectural ensemble of the Cathedral Square. She underlined that the Armoury Chamber was the oldest museum-treasury of Russia, which was exposing state regalia, coronation robes of the sovereigns, church attires of the patriarchs, large collection of gold and silver items of the decorative art accomplished by European and Eastern craftsmen.
Elena Gagarina has also pointed at the projects devoted to the museum restoration, which include such directions as the restoration of metal, paintings, fabrics, and paper. Besides, followed by impressive visual aids, her performance told about the principal areas of focus for the museum, among which are the organization of exhibitions, the realization of cultural programs, lectures, masterclasses, publication of catalogues, books for family reading, and scientific editions.
