On 19 April 2024, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin awarded General Director of the Moscow Kremlin Museums Elena Gagarina an Order ‘For Merit to the Fatherland’, 3d class, ‘for contributing a lot to the development of museology and preservation of cultural heritage of Russia’.

Elena Gagarina has been leading the museum from 2001, under her guidance the principle cultural projects on the national scale in the spheres of restoration, enlightenment, and exhibition were held both in Russia and abroad.
