From the 6th till the 9th of June, the 10th Book Fair “Red Square” will be held in Moscow. The stand № 11 of the Moscow Kremlin Museums will open on the Museum line in the GUM Department Store. The visitors will be able to buy exhibition catalogues, guides, books for family reading and various museum souvenirs.
On 9 June from 12:00 till 14.00, the events specially organized for the guests of the festival by the Moscow Kremlin Museums will be held in the Literary Drawing Room (GUM’s reception hall).
At 12:00, the programme “Everyone Loves Playing. Table-top Games in Russia of the 15th-20th cc.", timed to the current exhibition of the museum “Games Our Ancestors Played”. The participants will learn how to play at spillikins and goose, recall the lotto, chess and checkers, and also try to play the games of the past. Yulia Uvarova, methodologist of the Moscow Kremlin Museums and author of several scientific, popular science articles and books for family reading, will lead the programme.
At 13:00, the methodologists of the Children’s Centre in the Moscow Kremlin Museums Yulia Rusova and Sophia Bebing will carry on an interactive programme “To the Great Ocean: the Transsiberian Railway”. The audience will learn about the construction of the Transsiberian railway, the eminent personalities of that time and the role of the railway in the country’s life of the early 20th century. The museum collaborators will demonstrate a 3D copy of the Easter present with the model of the Transsiberian train, accomplished upon the order of Emperor Nicholas II for his spouse Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna by C. Fabergé firm in 1900. A thematic quiz with souvenirs will finish the programme.
