On 19 July 2019, The Moscow Kremlin Museums participate in the international online event #PalaceDay dedicated this year to the gardens in the Royal residences. It will be launched in social networks Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Telegram, VKontakte and Odnoklassniki. The Kremlin Museums will make a series of publications about the gardens in the Kremlin and its suburbs, about the birds that live in the Kremlin territory and much more. The Museums will also publish remarkable pieces of art illustrating plants, fruits, exotic flowers and landscapes, stored in the Armoury Chamber.
This online event comes back for the fourth year in a row. Last year it was focused on the Royal Feasts, and in 2017 the participants revealed the Royal Residences and gave online tours around the Palaces. Beginning from 2018, the 19th of July is officially recognized the World Palace Day.
Other members of this international event are the museums from twelve countries – members of the European Royal Residences Network, such as Palaces of Versailles and Trianon (France), Schönbrunn Palace (Austria), Château of Chambord (France), Historic Royal Palaces (United Kingdom), Parques de Sintra - Monte da Lua (Portugal), Museum of King Jan III’s Palace at Wilanów (Poland), Prince’s Palace of Monaco (Monaco), Royal Palace of Caserta (Italy), Peterhof State Museum-Reserve (Russia) and others.
