On 20 May 2023, the Moscow Kremlin Museums took part in the All-Russian Campaign “The Night of the Museums”. A special evening program with lectures and film screening awaited the guests in the museum’s Lecture Hall on the Manezhnaya street, 7.
The visitors learned, how the diplomatic relations between Denmark and Russia had been developing in the 16th century, which diplomatic gifts were sent to the courts of monarchs and what dynastic marriages were negotiated over. Besides, the audience was introduced to the history of medieval European temples and found out, how the armours of Alexander Nevsky’s druzhina and of the knights of the Livonian Order actually looked like.
The film screening “The Byzantine Heritage of Russian Tsarina” from the series “The Treasures of the Moscow Kremlin” finished the Night of the Museums. The visitors listened to lectures and watched the film with great interest, which was reflected in the comments of the Museum’s social media.
