On 14 March 2023, the Armoury Chamber in the Kremlin hosted the first ‘Musical Gathering’. The audience listened to the music pieces of two composers of the Romantic era Johannes Brahms and Аntonín Dvořák played by pianist Dmitry Masleev, award winner of the 15th Tсhaikovsky International Competition, and the State Quartet named after Borodin, one of the oldest chamber ensembles of the world.
"This series has no particular theme. We can say that the main role is given to music itself. Performed in a chamber manner and surrounded by wonderful art pieces, it creates a very special world of images and sounds. And to musicians, of course. Close distance to them gives an impression as if it is you who touches the keys or the bow," said Elena Milovzorova, Head of the Publishing and Special Programs Department of the Moscow Kremlin Museums.
On 7 April, the concert ‘Franz Liszt and Music of Russian Romanticism’ will finish the series. Among others, the music pieces by Sergei Rachmaninoff, Nikolai Medtner, Mily Balakirev, César Cui, Mikhail Glinka and Modest Mussorgsky will be performed.
