On June 23, the film screening, devoted to Russia Day and held within the promotional project Znanie.Kino of the Russian Society “Znanie”(knowledge), took place in the Lecture Hall of the Moscow Kremlin Museums on Manezhnaya Street, 7.
The guests learned from the museum collaborators about the history and concept of the holiday and watched 4 series of the film “Conservators” by Yulia Muzikantskaya, Director and Manager of the Moscow International Biennale of Contemporary Art.
The film tells about the formation of expositions of some museums in Luhansk and Donetsk, how the collections outlived the Great Patriotic War and their destiny starting from 2014. The audience learned about the work of the museum staff members who were rescuing and preserving the exhibits during the military actions. Authors paid special attention to the rescue of masterpieces from the Mariupol Museum in the heat of the warfare at the Azovstal and the work of European journalists, who had distorted many events including those connected to items’ evacuation. The guests could not suppress tears watching in the documentary the true heroes – museum collaborators who partook in the special military operation, were wounded but had strength to return to work in the museums.
