RECENT RESTORATION PROJECTS
Restoration of the Annunciation Cathedral should be mentioned among the recent restoration projects, made by the Kremlin Museums. During the centuries, the Annunciation Cathedral had been the Moscow Great Princes' and Tzars' home church.
Exposition of the Russian cannons of the XVIIth-early XVIIIth century
The exposition, opened in the Kremlin Ivanovskaya Square, near the famous Tsar Cannon, incorporates 14 cannon barrels of the XVIIth-XVIIIth century from the Moscow Kremlin collection.
Restoration of architectural monuments
Preserving the architectural monuments of the Kremlin is one of the most important spheres of activity of the Moscow Kremlin Museums.
Ivan the Great Bell-Tower
The process of restoration of the Ivan the Great Bell-Tower and re-equipment of its interior for the museum purposes lasted for several years and successfully finished in 2008 when a new exposition dedicated to history of the Moscow Kremlin architectural complex was unveiled in its halls.
One-Pillar Chamber of the Patriarch's Palace
In 2003 the Moscow Kremlin architectural bureau and personnel of the Central Scientific-restoration Workshops launched a project of restoration of the One-Pillar Chamber dated to the XVIIth century. As a part of a great architectural complex of the Patriarch's Palace it was intended to become an exhibition hall upon completion of restoration works.

Moscow Kremlin and Red Square, 25 years in UNESCO
The ensemble of the Moscow Kremlin and Red Square is a masterpiece of human creative genius and the main symbol of the country. It took more than 500 years to form, reflecting the history of Russian architecture as well as relationship with the European cultural traditions. Architectural monuments of the Moscow Kremlin and Red Square are the finest examples of national architectural school. Moscow Kremlin was the residence of the Greate Princes, then, later the Tzar’s residence. Currently it is the seat of President of the Russian Federation.
